Sweet Treats Cannery

1256 S Highway 21
Springfield, GA 31329

Wendy grew up in Western New York. She was taught early on by both her grandmother and mother in many different ways of sustainable living, growing gardens, visiting farms, and preserving foods. As an adult, Wendy's love for canning grew, producing jars for family and friends. She went on to attend culinary school in Florida and earn an Associates' degree in Culinary Arts which included Foodservice nutrition, Foodservice sanitation, Culinary supervisory development, and Baking and Pastry Arts. For many years, she worked in the industry sharpening her skills.

Eric grew up in South Carolina. He worked alongside his father, learning other ways of sustainable living, which included farming, hunting, and fishing, which installed values that have lasted a lifetime. Eric jumped into many different skilled careers that taught him many mechanics of life and have made him a well-rounded individual. These skills he uses every day to keep operations up and going.

When we met, we quickly realized that the love on both sides of the spectrum needed to be combined. We set out to create what is now today Sweet Treats Cannery. We utilize local farms and work with farmers one on one. We also travel from Florida to Virginia working with you pick farms and packing houses to bring the season's best produce home. We work closely with the Department of Agriculture in all stages of production and manufacturing goods. We are small and family owned in the State of Georgia.

We visited the Sweet Treats Cannery from our home in Evans, Columbia County, with visiting out-of-town (Buffalo NY) family, to try something new and see what they had to offer. Eric and Wendy were fantasic hosts, showed us their canning and preservative methods and we delighted in their very wide variety of canned fruits and vegetables, pies and other goodies. Too bad our car was so small :-). I especially liked the jar of cherry jam. Absolutely loved the flavor and consistency! It was fresh, tangy, and very delicious. We really look forward to a return trip soon. Everyone should take the bull by the horns and visit with them; great selection of all kinds of canned delights! I hope that you are as delighted as we all were on our first visit.
