Harlawn Yard Services started as a part time business while Lon worked for 32 years in the flight industry. The business started unintentionally, when he was asked to mow a yard by a lady who needed help. “So I helped her out,” he says, “and then I added one after another, which turned into a very good business. I have been operating my lawn care and maintenance business part time for 18 years and I took it full time in May 2019 when I retired from the flight business.”

Being outside all day is one of the perks of the profession. Lon says, “I love being in the great outdoors. I have the best business because it brings instant gratification. It always looks better when we are done. And it’s peaceful— grass doesn’t talk back or argue with you!”

His goal is to always enhance a property and never disappoint his customers. He says, “Every yard is different and there is a technique for every yard.”
