Meet Isaiah E. Scott

Isaiah, son of Roger and Sonja Scott of Effingham is a rising star in art, photography, wildlife preservation and academic. No stranger to hard work and dedication, this high school senior has many interests and talents – most recently founding The Rookery Collection to showcase his wildlife illustrations and other products. Isaiah is an honorary member of The Ogeechee Audobon Society, The Georgia Ornithological Society and Atlanta Urban Ecologist.

Isaiah was awarded the Eckelberry Fellowship for 2021 from the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University. Through this grant, he will continue studying birds and filling the gap of birding history. Isaiah intends to research and illustrate a cultural and field guide to the historic Gullah Geechee culture heritage corridor (along the coast of. South Carolina, Georgia and Northern Florida).

“I have a desire to research the birds of these areas and how they connect to the people. How birds were affected by the plantations and slave cultivation is an important area of research,” the young Mr. Scott says.

The Eckelberry Fellowship grant will fund Isaiah’s expenses for field illustration, potentially taking him to Barbados for research where the Gullah Geechee are said to have roots.

If all of these accomplishments at the young age of 18 were not enough, Isaiah E. Scott has been accepted to Cornell University this fall. An impressive resume for this young man and we will be seeing much more from him in the years to come.

Building a Family Legacy, One Talented Son at a Time

Isaiah’s family is thrilled to support his passions. Just as they love to support all members of the Scott family with their pursuits. The Scotts own five businesses,

  • Scott & Sons Trucking, LLC - Roger and Sonja Scott
  • LaunchMe Consultants - Sonja Scott
  • Hot Boyz Welding, custom metal furniture and art - Roger Scott, Jr.
  • Boundless Tutoring at Cornell University - Darius Scott

“Roger leads his family with love and support....without his leadership we would not be able to accomplish all that God had for us,” says Sonja Scott.

This is a family affair with each member, father, mother and three sons lifting each other up and motivating one another to live their lives with passion and contribution—ultimately leading to their creation of a lasting legacy for their family for years to come.
