Michael Hart was destined to start his own grass business, but with a slight difference. He wanted to farm sod. So, that’s exactly what he did.

After a four-year stint in the US Navy, Michael returned home and “got down to business.” He worked countless hours and researched how to grow the best grass for this area; grass that he could take pride in and to ensure all of his customers would have a healthy, beautiful yard.

Along the way, he met his wife, Tara and they were married in 2006. Tara soon became an integral part of Michael’s business, working in the office, taking orders and doing all accounting. Eight years later, they welcomed twin boys, Layne and Camden. Michael and Tara hope they will one day take over the business with the same passion that they, themselves have possessed.

Greenblade has grown exponentially throughout the last 20 years, but one thing remains the same: the drive to grow and distribute the healthiest and best grass on the market.
