Lisa Stephens: The Woman at the Center of a Thriving Business

When you meet Lisa Stephens, you will instantly notice her calm and cool demeanor. She has to be. She and her husband, Travis Stephens own Total Services Heating and Air, a growing HVAC provider serving Effingham, Chatham and Brian counties. And she has a full house with four children; two boys, twin girls and a dog named Ranger.

Travis and Lisa both started out working at Lisa’s family business over more than 22 years ago. They explain that how they were blessed to learn the heating and air conditioning business from Lisa’s father and grandfather, who instilled into them both the values of hard work, honesty and treating people with respect. Those are the values Lisa and Travis carried into their own business. Customer satisfaction is what they strive for and what they both find most rewarding about owning Total Services HVAC for the last six years.

“We love helping our customers with expert service at a fair price. We just can’t operate any other way,” Lisa says.

Lisa loves working alongside Travis and watching her kids learn the business and how to balance work and family life. Lisa works hard everyday, making sure their service technicians have what they need to go out in the field, that the office staff can serve customers over the phone and that everything in the business and in life is running smoothly.

Travis says, “Lisa balances me and reminds me to breathe when things get hectic.”

Lisa knows what it takes to build a successful business with the values passed down from her parents and grandparents. She is a role model for her children and for women thinking of going into business for themselves.
