Agency History
DeWitt Insurance was founded by Edgar A. DeWitt Sr. in 1956, and in 1978 E. Al DeWitt Jr. and his wife Lenda purchased the agency. The DeWitt’s welcomed DeWayne Ladner to the agency in 1996, which opened up the opportunity in the agency for expanding financial services. Lenda became the new president in 1997 and when she retired in 2002, she passed the torch to DeWayne as the new President and CEO. DeWayne has grown the agency through acquisitions and by adding additional agency locations in Statesboro, Georgia and Diamondhead, Mississippi, as well as co-founding Vision Financial Group with co-partners Scott Bass and Talbert Edenfield.

Today the DeWitt Insurance Agency and Vision Financial Group are there for your insurance and financial service needs. DeWayne says, “We are an insurance and financial center with all the tools and resources you need to help you build a strong safety net utilizing home, auto, life, health insurances and retirement planning.”
At DeWitt, they have computer software and rater systems for their insurance products and services and can generate a quote almost immediately, email you documents, and do business remotely or in person. There is little to no staff turnover, in fact, multiple agents have been there 25 plus years.
As an independent agency they utilize their professional insurance associations to always provide their clients with the most appropriate options available.
